Christmas Essentials

A few small extras that are availiable from us to make your christmas that little bit easier and even more spectacular.

Turkey Legs

Turkey Legs

Sold in packs of 2, fantastic value and versatile, extend your enjoyment by making curries, soups, casseroles or simply roast.

Bacon

Bacon

You do not need to cover our turkeys In bacon, as cooking them upside down until the last 1/2 hr and the good fat covering, keeps the breast succulent and moist. However we now sell the very best packs of streaky bacon approx 1/2lb and pigs in blankets are my guilty pleasure!

Chipolatas

Chipolatas

Our fantastic suffolk chipolatas, locally made for us from local suffolk pork, sold in packs of 12.

Goose Fat

Goose Fat

Produced from our own free range geese, we felt that this is something we could not keep to ourselves any longer. Not only making the best tasting roast potatoes, goose fat is also good for you in comparison to other animal fats.

Goose fat contains far less saturated fat than butter or lard.

High in 'heart healthy' monounsaturated fats which help to lower blood cholesterol levels.

Goose fat has a high burning (or smoke ) point which means food can be cooked at a high temperature without the fat burning or breaking down.

Gravy

Gravy

Don't  buy extra gravy, just add 1/2 litre of water to the roasting pan with the giblets and possibly half an onion, season the bird and roast. After roasting remove the bird and giblets and return the pan to the heat. Skim off any excess fat and scape any juicy bits off the bottom of the pan, heat and reduce slightly then season to taste. Pour gently over the carved meat.

Pigs in blankets

Pigs in blankets

Pigs in Blankets,  already made for you to pop straight into a pan and cook, packets of 12.

Sloe and apple jelly

Sloe and apple jelly

The best alternative to cranberry sauce we have found yet.

Go's perfectly with roast turkey and many cheeses made locally from all local ingredients.

Stuffing

Stuffing

Although we do not recommend stuffing the bird, as this will affect the cooking times, we want you to enjoy the flavour with out over powering it with herbs, oils and spices. We do always serve a great stuffing as an accompliment and this is one of the best.
